What is a plastic shredder

A plastic shredder is a machine used to cut plastic into small pieces for granulation. Unlike plastic granulators, shredders are designed specifically for larger plastic waste, such as car bumpers, pipes, barrels, and other items that are too large for granulators. During this process, large plastic items are fed into the shredder.

The working principle of the plastic shredder is to shred plastic waste into small or fine pieces by rotating and tearing blades. When the motor is started, the blades begin to rotate and the plastic waste is put into the feed port of the shredder. Inside the feed port, there are fixed blades and moving blades, which cooperate with each other to produce tearing force. After the plastic waste is torn into small pieces by the blades, the pieces are separated and discharged from the machine with the help of the filter inside the machine. During the whole process, the plastic waste constantly interacts with the blades to achieve the purpose of shredding.

The advantages of plastic shredders are: efficient size reduction, reduction of waste volume, promotion of recycling, conservation of resources, reduction of environmental impact, cost saving, etc.
